This week, we learned how to use figma to create smart animation.
Final Outcome
Exercise
After reviewing my BAIJIA app prototype from the
Application Design I module, I’m satisfied with how the
overall user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) turned out. The app’s
design is clean, and users can easily navigate through the different sections.
However, there are still a few details I feel could be improved to make the
app even better for users.
The “My Wallet” and “QnA” sections currently in the profile page don’t provide much value. The customer service is already available, the “QnA” section feels unnecessary. "My Wallet" doesn’t really affective. "Favourite" section had also removed to the home page. By removing these sections, I can simplify the profile page, making it cleaner and easier to navigate.
Exercise
Students are required to perform a self-evaluation and reflection based
on their mobile application design I final project. This project aims to
document the issues, problems, and difficulties and propose solutions to
improve the mobile app design aesthetic and user flow. Mobile App design
is an iterative process, and this task will expose to students the
constant improvements one can make to their app.
Here is my UI Kits:
Here is the Hi-Fi Wireframe:
The few areas where improvements could make will be:
1.Adding "Favourite" to the Home Page
2. Order Page
3.Profile Page Simplifcation
I asked Chatgpt for feedback, Here is the comments:
1. Layout and Spacing: The layout seems consistent with clear divisions between different sections of the app, but be mindful of spacing.
2. Color Scheme: The pink and white color palette feels soft and modern, giving a calm vibe. However, ensure there’s enough contrast for accessibility, especially in areas where buttons or text are placed on light backgrounds.
3. Navigation Flow: From what I see, the app seems to include multiple pages for login, payment, and settings. It looks like you've implemented an easy-to-follow navigation pattern. Just ensure the users don't need to go through too many steps to reach their goals, as it could lead to frustration. Streamlining the number of clicks from homepage to final action would improve the experience.
4. Pickup Pages: I noticed the inclusion of maps for pickup, which is a great feature. Make sure the integration with services like Waze is seamless.
6. User Profile Section: The profile page looks minimal, which is good. Just ensure that all essential features (e.g., order history, favorite restaurants) are accessible within one or two taps.
7. Home Page: Some areas appear crowded, especially where multiple actions or forms are available. Simplifying these sections by using drop-down menus or icons instead of text could make the interface less overwhelming.
8.Order Page: Including specific instructions like item remarks on the order page would significantly improve the user experience, especially for food delivery or services where customization is key. Allowing users to leave item-specific notes (e.g., "no onions," "extra sauce," or "medium rare") is an important feature.
Overall, the app design looks well-structured. My main suggestion is to improve accessibility, simplify dense sections, and maintain a strong visual flow between pages.
Problem and Improvements
1.Adding "Favourite" to the Home Page
After reviewing the app, I decided that instead of separate “Favorites” in
"My Profile", it would be more helpful to have a
“Favorites” section directly on the home page.
This will simplifying the sections by using icons instead of text could make the interface less overwhelming.
This would
allow users to quickly access their preferences or favourite restaurants as
soon as they open the app, making reordering easier and faster. This section
could be placed on "Recommend" of the home page for easy access, improving
the overall user experience. To make it easier to mark favorite restaurants,
I would add a heart (love) icon beside every
restaurant. Users can tap the icon to mark a restaurant as their favorite,
and it will automatically appear in the Favorites section. This feature
would save users time and make the ordering process faster and more
convenient.
After consideration, i feel like there are too many sections on home page,
this may let user feel too overwhelming when they open the apps. To make it
more simplistic and minimalist, i would reduce some of unnecessary sections
to make the app looks more clean and user friendly.
2.Order Page
Currently, users can only leave general remarks when checking out, but they
can't add specific instructions for individual food items. For example, if
someone wants extra spice or no onions on a specific dish, there’s no option
for that. To improve this, I would add the ability for users to
leave item-specific remarks directly on the order page.
This would allow for more personalized orders and improve user satisfaction.
What we could do to improve for this current situation will be adding a
pop-up page on the order page to allow users to leave
item-specific remarks for each food item.
3.Profile Page Simplifcation
The “My Wallet” and “QnA” sections currently in the profile page don’t provide much value. The customer service is already available, the “QnA” section feels unnecessary. "My Wallet" doesn’t really affective. "Favourite" section had also removed to the home page. By removing these sections, I can simplify the profile page, making it cleaner and easier to navigate.

Reflecting on this project, I’ve learned that even small adjustments can
significantly improve the overall user experience. The proposed changes—such
as adding item-specific remarks, displaying pickup distances, simplifying
the profile page, and making it easier to access favorite restaurants—will
make the app more intuitive and user-friendly. Moving forward, I plan to
continue gathering feedback and testing these updates to ensure they truly
enhance the app for users.
