Low J- Yin / 0352888

Introduction

Exercise

Student are required to create a professional experience design proposal document that explains their project idea and how will the experience be for the user.

I came up with three idea:

1.AR Portfolio Viewer

For student and artists, showcasing their work is important. This app could display artwork, showing the story of artwork and also your own portfolio. This makes student could stand out with their portfolio and also their artwork with the visual AR design.

2.AR Interior Design Planner

This apps could scan the QR code, showing how the 1:1 scale furniture looks in your home, you may change the colours and designs too see which are fit your room. You could also check on the quantity and price.

3.AR Beauty Guide

The apps could having step-by-step AR tutorials showing you how to apply the make, suggesting which products that work for your skin tone and type. You may also scan the make products to get instant info, such as price, brand and ingredients.

After consulting with sir, he recommended me to focusing develop more on idea#1 and use some of the interaction from idea#2.I started with finding target audience.

Idea #1 Proposal
AR Portfolio Viewer

1.Target Audience
- Students
Present their work in a unique way to shows their portfolio and showcase their own artworks.
-Artist and Collectors
People who interested to discover new artists and understanding their artwork on a deeper level.
-Educators
Teachers who wish to encourage their students to explore ways of showcasing their work on exhibition or school events.

By refining the target audience, i started to develop more on user persona.

2.User Persona

3.User Journey Map

After identifying the pain point and gain point from the user journey map, knowing the user persona, I come up with the solutions and started the new user journey map.

4.New User Journey Map

5.Wireframe and Visual Layout

6.Moodboard

    • The home page will shows the "Top Pick" from users and the art work also some famous student portfolio.
  3. Key Features

    • Portfolio: Each artist has a profile with their name, background, and a sample of their work.
    • 3D Animation: When an artwork is scanned, it transforms into a 3D animation, making it more interactive.
    • Art Story: Each piece has a short story, sharing the concept, inspiration, and techniques used.
    • AR Scan: Users can place a life-size model of the artwork in their space, seeing how it looks at home.

Reflection

Through this assignment, I learned a lot about designing user-friendly apps using Figma and creating a prototype. Starting with Figma, I was able to map out the entire layout, from the welcome message to the Home Page, ensuring everything looked clean and organized. Using Figma helped me understand how to arrange elements like the menu bar and camera icon in a way that makes navigation easy and logical.

Creating the prototype was a great hands-on experience. I learned how to link screens and add interactive elements, like the Portfolio, 3D Animation, and AR Scan functions, which made the design feel more realistic. Testing the prototype allowed me to see how each feature would work together in practice and how users could engage with the app’s different parts.

One key takeaway was how Figma’s tools help bring an idea to life, especially with features like AR Scan, which I realized could really help users imagine artwork in their space. Overall, this process showed me how effective design can make an app more engaging, and I feel more confident using Figma to create functional, user-centered designs.
