As for last exercise, i had done the burger infographic poster, i find out it will be fun to make it as animated infographic poster, so i started to research some of the reference.

After considering, i choose Japanese ramen as my topic.
fig 1.1 poster reference
Here is some problems i find out from the poster:
Lack of Topic and Subtitle
- The poster does not have a clear topic or subtitle, making it confusing for viewers at first glance. It’s unclear what the recipe is for.
Inappropriate Color Theme
- While the color scheme is visually appealing, it does not align with the theme of "Japanese Ramen." Traditional colors like red, cream, or black would be more suitable to reflect the authentic feel of Japanese cuisine.
Poor Arrangement and Alignment
- The recipe's steps and text are not well-aligned, making it difficult to follow the sequence. Viewers have to look closely to identify the order of the steps (e.g., finding "1" and then "2"), which affects readability and usability.
By all of this problems, i started to re-design the poster. First, i research on "Japanese Ramen" to find more information and details.

By then, i started to design the typographic of "Ramen".

Next, move on to the small details, i like how the poster placing the small character to cook the ingredient, so i re-arrange the alignment, and make the noodle on bottom of the poster, so it will shows like well-serve and audience could reading from start to bottom.
fig 1.4 poster draft
Here is the first draft of my poster, i added the chopstick and place the restaurant in front of the noodle so it will be more connect with the ramen, and placing the number from start to bottom. i find out there are some problem on the first draft:
1.Background
The background is a light beige tone, while the main elements use deep reds, browns, and yellows. Which make the background looks not suitable for this poster.
2.Depth & Shadows
The blocks and elements could use slight shadows or depth effects to make them pop. Currently, the poster looks abit flat.
3.Contrast in Text – The "RAMEN" text could use a slight darker outline or shadow to improve readability.
By this problem, i make the adjustment.

For the background, I change the background color to a warm, natural tone that mimics traditional Japanese paper (washi), using the texture - grain to create the paper texture. As for typography, i used red colour to make outline so that the topic will be pop up.

As for the text, i used the block to make the text more readability. i added texture - glass for the oil on pan, and used texture - blur to make the shadow looks more realistic.
Here is the final poster looks like:

Here is the difference of both of the poster:
fig 1.8 comparison of both poster
I had done some slightly changes based on the design, such as the sesame oil, the poster only using a small elements on top and it not clear to know the step, so i added the graphic on the my poster, same to the mushroom and the salt & chicken stock. I had also added the chopstick to shows that the ramen is well serve.
There are quick many details on the small elements also, i added the chairs inside and make it the colour theme suitable. Using gradient also making the house looks more detailed.
Next, moving on to the after effect, i want to make the step one by one appears. I had also added the sound effect and background music.
Reflection
Throughout this course, I have learned to analyze and evaluate various infographic designs by identifying their strengths and weaknesses. This process has helped me understand what elements enhance clarity and engagement and what aspects need improvement. By studying different works, I developed a keen eye for effective visual storytelling, layout composition, and information hierarchy.
One of the key takeaways from this experience is the ability to make informed design decisions—knowing what to refine, what to remove, and what to retain to create a well-balanced and visually appealing infographic.
