Introduction
Group 4 - Expedio Design_Xboard
Week 1
In the first week, we were introduced to the module information booklet and
given an overview of the project requirements. Among the three available
topics, our team selected the Expedio Design project, as we felt it aligned
best with our skills and interests. We began by researching the company's
background to better understand their needs and context. Based on our
findings, we developed a preliminary set of interview questions tailored to
our project plan. Our current focus is to refine these questions in
preparation for next week, when we will conduct the interview with our
client.
Week 2
After presenting our interview questions to our lecturer, he advised us to
include references to justify why each question was being asked. Taking his
feedback into the survey form, we refined our questions accordingly. Later
in the week, we conducted the interview with student, professional and
business community, successfully gathering all the necessary information to
move forward with our project.
Week 3
For this week, we had focused on developing three user personas that align
with the criteria of our target audience based on the insights gathered
during our client interview. Initially, we took the wrong approach by
targeting individuals with overly high status, who did not fit our intended
audience. After receiving detailed feedback, we reevaluated our direction
and identified three more suitable groups: individuals in education,
corporate office workers, and smaller business owners. These personas better
represent the target audience for the X-Board. Moving forward, our next task
is to develop survey and interview questions to gain deeper insights.
After finalizing our survey and interview questions, we reviewed them with
our lecturer, who provided valuable suggestions for improvement. He
emphasized the importance of focusing on our primary market—in this case,
CEOs of large companies, as they are potential clients who could make bulk
purchases. Additionally, we were advised to postpone conducting interviews
until after analyzing the survey data. This approach would allow us to
gather more accurate and targeted information based on a clearer
understanding of respondent feedback. By next week, we aim to complete the
data collection from our survey, enabling us to move on to the next stage of
the project.

Week 5
This week, we focused on collecting responses for our survey by distributing
it to individuals who fit our user personas. Once we received enough
responses, we began analyzing the data to extract valuable insights for our
project.

Week 6
This week, our primary focus will be on defining a clear problem statement
and identifying the top five issues related to the X-Board. These tasks
will help us better understand the challenges and set a strong foundation
for our project development. After finalise all of the information, we
will be starting to develop on presentation slide.

Week 9
There is no physical class.
Week 10
This week, we focused on ensuring that our plan for how customers interact
with the X-Board effectively addresses the core problem we aim to solve.
Additionally, we developed a strategy for maintaining consistent
communication with our client by providing regular updates on our
progress.
To increase awareness and excitement about the X-Board, we explored ways
to engage users through social media. We identified the most effective
platforms to use and brainstormed content ideas to capture attention and
sustain interest.
Week 11
After completing the previous tasks, we moved on to establishing our design
direction. I took the lead in assigning specific tasks to each team member and
provided a detailed briefing on the design system to ensure consistency across
our work. The team was divided into departments based on their roles: design,
video editing, website development, and presentation preparation. This clear
division of responsibilities allowed us to streamline our workflow and focus
on delivering high-quality outcomes in each area.
Week 12
This week, my focus was on assisting each department to ensure that all
aspects of the project were consistently designed and met our quality
standards. I worked closely with the design, video editing, website
development, and presentation teams, providing guidance and feedback to
maintain a cohesive and well-designed output across all deliverables.
Week 13
For my part, I focused on designing the AR scan experience and the website
design. I worked on ensuring both elements were visually engaging and aligned
with the overall design direction, contributing to a seamless user experience.

Final Presentation Slide
Looking back on this project, I realize it’s been more than just a product development journey—it’s been an exploration of understanding people, their needs, and their everyday challenges. At its core, the X-Board isn’t merely a whiteboard; it’s a solution crafted from countless conversations, brainstorming sessions, and user insights, all of which reminded me of the human connection behind every idea.
Being chosen as the group leader was an important responsibility, as my role was pivotal to the success of the entire team. My focus was on guiding each department to ensure consistency in design and that all aspects of the project met our quality standards. I worked closely with the design, video editing, website development, and presentation teams, offering feedback and direction to ensure a cohesive and well-executed final product.
There were moments that felt overwhelming—analyzing data, processing feedback, and making decisions that balanced functionality, sustainability, and aesthetics. Yet, every challenge presented an opportunity to refine our vision and improve the project.
On a personal level, this project taught me the value of empathy in design. Listening closely to users’ frustrations with traditional tools reminded me that the best products don’t just solve problems—they seamlessly integrate into the flow of people’s lives. I also learned to embrace feedback, even when it meant revisiting ideas. Every critique became a valuable step toward creating something better.
Ultimately, this project reinforced the importance of design in promoting a truly remarkable product.
